Podcast Episode 1 goes live!

The first episode of the new Filmonik Podcast is now online and available to download. This blog will keep you up-to-date with everything that happens on the podcast, including links mentioned in each episode.

FP Ep.1:

1. D.I.F.F. (Discerning, Intelligent, Film, Fan) - The DIFF film may be familar to some, having been screened at Filmonik and as part of the 2006 Kabaret event. It's a light hearted film with a serious message about supporting the Filmonik film nights. Starring our very own Jamie in the lead role as the DIFF, the film also features another Filmonik regular Stewart L.D. Laing as the narrator.

2. An interview with Jamie & Goz - Jamie & Goz set up Filmonik, both as an outlet to show their own films and as a forum to support other filmmakers in the UK. This interview explains a little about how Filmonik came about, what it's purpose is and how it can help the independent filmmaker.

3. Shut Up Shop by James Graham - This was voted the overall winning film at the recent 'Best of Filmonik' night, which marked the 3oth birthday of the monthly screenings. The film was selected by a panel of judges: Ric Michael (Baby Cow), Liz Molyneux (BBC Current Affairs), Paul Barron, (Channel M / University of Salford), Kate Taylor (Northern Film Network / London Short Film Festival) and Sarah Perks (Cornerhouse / Exposures Film Festival) from the short-listed films that had been selected by the evenings audience. Check out all the winners here.

That's all for now, be sure to subscribe and we'll see you at the next monthly screening.
